Face to Face on November 28th

こんにちは。11月28日に行われた、F2Fの報告をさせていただきます。

今回の発表者は教育学研究科のアナスタシアさんで、ロシアからの留学生です。

「中学校における平和教材に関する研究」ということで、ロシアと日本の中学校での平和教育の比較や、それに伴う、両国の平和観の違いなどについて、発表してくれました。人権保障や社会的格差のない社会を平和とする、積極的平和観の育成のために、国境なき医師団（MSF）に関する教材を用いて、ロシアと日本の中学校で授業を実施し、授業前と後のアンケートの結果を交えた内容でした。

発表に関して、質問が活発に飛び交い、参加者の今回のテーマに関する興味の高さがうかがえました。

グループ討論では、各グループともに自国の平和教育や平和観について紹介し合うなどして、

平和と一口に言っても、各国、または各個人で全く認識が違うということが実感されたようです。

また、中学校の教育が平和観というものについて、多大な影響を与えるという意見も見受けられました。

グループ討論を通して、普段友人同士でも、踏み込んで話すことのない話題が日本人学生と留学生の間で繰り広げられ、参加者にとってよい経験になった思います。

今回、発表しくださった、アナスタシアさん、そして参加して下さったみなさま、本当にありがとうございます。

Hello, everyone. Let me tell you about the Face to Face project on November 28th.

The last presenter was Anastasia, a Master student in the Graduate school of Education, from Russia. She shared with us a graph that showed the differences between Russia and Japan's Peace education system. Throughout her presentation about "Research on Peace education materials in Junior high school,"many different peace views were revealed. For the purpose of developing a positive peace view, which means you see Peace as to defend human rights or prevent social gaps, lessons about "Doctors without Boarders(MSF)" were held in junior high school classes in both countries. The junior high school students took a questionnaire before and after the lesson. Anastasia shared the results of questionnaire while she presented.

After Anastasia's talk, many participants asked questions about her presentation, and I found that they were really interested in this subject.

During the discussion time, the participants introduced their countries' Peace education as well as their own Peace views. After that, they seemed to have realized that each country's view about peace is totally different from country to country or from person to person. They did this through the introduction of their countries' Peace education and their own Peace views.

Also, some people think that the Junior high school education system influences their own Peace views.

I think it was a good experiences for the Japanese students and International students, because they discussed subjects that they usually don't ever talk about with their friends.

Face to Face Project on June.27th

こんにちは。
6月27日に行われたFacetoFaceProjectの報告です。

今回の発表者は日本語・日本文化研修生のキアラ・コマストリさんでした。
彼女はイタリア人作家のフォスコ・マライーニと井上ひさしの作品を例に、イタリア人と日本人がお互いの国に対して持つ「イメージ」について検討し、イタリア人という彼女の立場から、日本とイタリアの「イメージ」と現実とのギャップや、他国（日本）からのまなざしによって新たに気付いた自国（イタリア）のことについて発表してくれました。

彼女の発表やその後のグループ討論では、日本人は集団意識が強く、「出る杭は打たれる」ということわざのようにその場の空気を読む、というイメージがあるという意見が日本人学生からも、留学生からも頻繁に出ましたね。

また、対照的で面白かったのは、イタリア、中国からの留学生は自分の街（地元）に愛着を持ち、街が自分のアイデンティティだと言う方もいましたが、日本人はあまり街に愛着を持っていないし、自分のアイデンティティも国・街ではなくその時所属している集団よって変化していくという方が多かったことです。
街への印象と自分のアイデンティティの問題は深く関わっているのかもしれません。既存の「イメージ」をどのように壊し、再構築していくべきなのか考え深いです。
今回は、みなさんの率直な「異国」、「自国」に対するイメージを聞くことができ、実り多い討論になったと思います。

次回は7月21日に、中国からのHUSA留学生、王さんに発表をしていただきます。

Hello, everyone.
Let me report about Face to Face Project on June.27th.
The speaker was Ms.Chiara Comastri who is an international student from Italy.
Introducing two books written respectively by Italian writer "Fosco Maraini" and Japanese writer "Hisashi Inoue", she presented about two countries's different image and what she found about "own country" through the gaze from "other country".
Through her presentation and the group discussion, we found that a lot of students have the impression that Japanese people tend to prefer a group instead of the individual and as, a Japanese proverb says, Japanese people adapt themselves to the present situation trying to avoid giving trouble.
Except for Japanese students, almost all people showed the deep attachment to their own city or town and some of them stated that their identity resides in their city/town. In contrast, Japanese student told that they don't have the special attachment to it and their identity resides in the small community which they belong.
I think that our town thoughts have an important influence on our identity. This time we had the chance to know a lot of opinions about the vision of the own and the other country, and we could have a productive discussion indeed.
We are planning to have the next Face to Face Project on July. 21st.
The next speaker will be Ms.Ou Ei, who is an international student from China. I hope for your participation.

Face to Face Project on May.30th

みなさま

こんにちは。今日は5月30日のFace to Faceの報告をします。
今回の発表者だった河合さんはドレスデン、京都、竹原など具体的な文化遺産の実例を挙げ、観光開発とその土地に暮らす人々の生活の間で起こる対立や葛藤について発表をしてくれました。
発表の合間に、「竹原の町並み（伝統的な景観）を守りつつ、その土地で暮らす人々の利便性を良くするにはどうすれば良いか」などいくつかの質問が全体に投げかけられ、各グループで話し合いました。
そこでは、伝統的文化財を残す地域と、人が生活をする地域を分けて残すという工夫をすることや、その土地に住んでいる人にもっとその土地の価値や素晴らしさを知ってもらう努力をすれば良いのではないかという意見が出ました。また、先人の昔の生活の知恵を学ぶことで環境教育にもなるという、観光を環境教育と結び付けて考える視点もありました。
そして、河合さんは実際に竹原市の事業に関わっていて、熟議の結果出たこれらの意見が実際に竹原の文化財を残していく取り組みに役立てるということをおっしゃってくれました。今回のFace to Faceでは普段あまり考えることのない、観光資源を維持していくことによって生じる問題について考えるきっかけとなりました。発表者の発表やお話を元に参加者それぞれがじっくり考えることができたと思います。

Hello, everyone. Let me report about Face to Face Project on May.30th.
Mr. Kawai, who was this presenter, presented oppositions or conflicts between tourism development and the regional quality of life, giving a few more examples, Dresden, Kyoto and Takehara city.

In his presentation, he started to ask us some questions. One of his questions was "What kind of methods are there to make a living better while keeping a landscape?" and we discussed this question separating into four groups. There were many kind of remarks and ideas results from the deliberation. Some had a opinion that districts preserved traditional buildings should be separated those where people live, and others stated that it was important that people living in a preservation district recognize how significant and valuable to preserve they are. In addition, there were a different point that tourism was connected to environmental education. That's why is that learning predecessor's wits of living make us have more interests and knowledges for environment.

Mr. Kawai takes part in the work concerning Takehara city so I hope that this result of our discussion will be useful in the measures to preserve cultural assets. We had an opportunity to think about problems resulting from keeping tourist resources, which we aren't conscious everyday, by his presentation and talks.

Face to Face Project on April.25th

みなさま

4月25日に行われたFace to Faceの報告をします。
今回のテーマは「日本が直面する震災と原発問題について」でした。
震災の２週間後に現地にボランティアで行った祖一さんにその活動の報告をしていただき、その後いつものようにグループに分かれて「震災」や「原発」といったテーマについて議論しました。
今回は日本人学生、留学生を含め、とても多くの方に来ていただき、Face to Faceを知ってもらうきっかけになったように思います。
祖一さんの発表は、実際に自分の目で見た人しか表現することができないメッセージがこめられていて、私たちに答えではなく”問い”を投げかけ、考えさせられる内容の発表でした。
その後の議論では震災に対する支援の方法やメディアの情報の信頼性、地震に関する日本の行政や、留学生からみた震災時の「日本人」、原子力発電所の問題、また状況を理解できていない被災地の子供への対応など、各グループで様々な方向から今回の東日本大震災について意見を交換しました。
今回のテーマだった東日本大震災は多くの人が関心や思いを抱いていたのでとても1時間半では時間が足りませんでしたね。
議論の時間が短く、消化不良を感じた方もいるかもしれません。
ですが、少ない時間でしたが、今回「震災」について自分の意見を述べ、他の人の意見を聞いて考えを共有する場を持つことができたのは、貴重なことだと思います。
みなさんが今回のFace to Faceで各々考えたことを普段の生活に持ち帰って、
これから震災のことを考える際に何か考えるヒントとなれば良いです。

今回参加して下さった方、ありがとうございました。
私は普段通りの生活をしながら、今回のこの場に来れなかった人たちにこの会で考えたことを何か伝えていきたいです。
次回のFace to Faceは5月16日（月）に開催する予定です。詳細が決まりましたら、また　ブログやもみじに更新しますのでご覧下さい。

Hello, everyone.
Let me make the report of Face to Face Project on April.25.
This theme was "the earthquake disaster and nuclear accident in Japan".
Firstly, Mr.Soichi presented the results of the volunteer activity in Miyagi. It was, I think, valuable presentation to be considered because of his real experience. Then, separating into seven groups, we shared each impression of his presentation and the disaster afterward. We had many kinds of topic in each groups. For example, supports for the stricken area, unreliable information media, the Japanese Government, the image of Japanese by international students, the problems of nuclear power generation and supports for the children who can’t accept the tragedy.
All of us had great interests in the earthquake and a lot of opinions about it, so 1.5 hours of discussion wasn’t enough to exchange all of our thoughts. However, even if we didn’t have enough time to discuss each other, it was a valuable chance to exchange our own different impression of the earthquake disaster.
I hope what you considered in this Face to Face Project is helpful for you thinking about the earthquake disaster in your common days.
I also try to convey what I thought over in this Face to Face Project for people who can’t participate in this time.

先月に起こった東日本大震災。
広島は幸い、この地震の直接的な被害に合うことはなく、私も含め多くの学生がいつもと変わらない日常を過ごしていることでしょう。しかし、ふとTVや新聞、インターネットなどによる情報によって目を被災地に移せば、余震や原発、地震の事後的な影響による被災地の人たちの不安は続いていることに気付きます。私たち全員が、彼らのためになるようなことをすぐに直接することはできず、悶々と感じることもあるかもしれません。しかしその中で、震災や原発の問題を自分たちに無関係ではなく、自分たちにも降りかかっていたかもしれないこととして考え、直接の被害を受けていない私たちがその意見を交換し、理解を深めることは私たちが今少なからずできることなのではないでしょうか。

今回は震災の2週間後に日本財団と専門NPOのヒアリング調査で実際に宮城県の避難所を回った祖一さんに報告の発表をしていただきます。そのあといくつかのグループに分かれ、震災や原発に関する議論をする予定です。専門的な知識はなくて構いません。日本人の学生と留学生を交え、様々な国の視点から自分が今回の地震に関して考えたことを話しましょう。

今回のF2Fは、参加者さまからの質問を事前に受け付けております。
その質問を受けて、発表者の方が発表の内容を考えるそうです。
もし、調査活動に関することでも、震災のことでも何か聞きたいことがありましたら、

Hello, everyone.

One month has passed since the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake struck Japan.
People who aren't related to this earthquake directly spend ordinary days like me in Hiroshima.
I think, thinking this disaster as it was possible I suffered great damage because of this earthquake is what we can do for people who live in a stricken area.
This time, Mr.Soichi, who made an on-the-spot investigation in Miyagi as a project member of a Japan Foundation and NPO, will report results of the investigation.
You don't have to have special knowledge. Let's exchange our own opinion of this disaster with Japanese student or exchange students.
Take it easy!

1.21 Face2Face Project

こんにちは。
今日は1月21日に行われたFace2Faceについて更新します。テーマ・発表者は前回の記事の通りです。


本田君、スザンネさんは日本、オーストリアの視点から他国の言語や文化、コミュニケーションを学ぶことについて発表してくれました。ありがとうございました。
発表後、各グループに分かれ、いつものようにテーマフリーの討論をしました。
グループ内では様々な国の出身者がいて、ディスカッションでは自国から日本、日本から他国
のそれぞれ異なる視点で今の「国際交流」について話すことができました。
「日本人は○○だ！」や「日本では○○しにくい」など普段は聞くことができない留学生の本音の声を聞くことができ、有意義な議論だったと思います。


また、「どうして日本の文化がそんなに世界で人気があるのか！？」などグループ間を超え、会場全体での
討論になったのも面白かったですね＾＾


「国際交流」とは何なのか、疑問は残りますが、このF2Fでの議論の場は「国際交流」という言葉ではくくれないなあと感じました。
「交流」に留まらず、もっと深い、生の声のぶつかり合いだと思います。
このF2Fが生の声が聞ける、言いたいことを言える場であってほしいです。


次のF2Fは2月9日です。春休みで旅行や帰省をする前にぜひご参加ください☆

Today, I updated the website of Face 2 Face project with the activity on
the 21st January.

Honda and Suzanne made a presentation about foreign languages, cultures and

communication with foreigners from different view points of their country.
Thank you for your presentation!


In the group discussion, we discussed the current situation of
"international interaction" among many countries.
Since we have some participants coming from other countries, we talked
about what we thought of foreigners and their countries.
For example, one might say something like "Japanese are so shy!"

Across all the groups, we also exchanged our opinions about why Japanese
culture was so popular all over the world. It was really interesting and
exciting discussion.

I hope that F2F project will be the place where everyone can freely express
their opinions

We are planing to have the next F2F project on Feb.9.
I will let you know the details as soon as possible.

活動内容
①「International Cafe～学生主体の国際交流活動の意義～」の発表
（発表者：本田秀一　文学部1年　日本）
②「Ich studiere japanology～私が日本語を学び始めたきっかけ～」の発表
（発表者：スザンネ・ロバート　HUSA留学生　オーストリア）
③グループに分かれ、参加者による自由討論（1時間程度）

今回は2人の発表者の方が各約15分ずつ発表を行ってくれます。

日本人の学生の方とオーストリアからの留学生の方がそれぞれの他国への関心や関わり方をテーマに発表してくれます。
それぞれ日本とオーストリアという異なる国の観点から国際交流・海外への興味を語って
くださるということで、今回もとても興味深いテーマになるでしょう。

自由討論では自分が感じたことや疑問に思ったことを自由に話して下さいね☆

Happy New Year! How are you getting along?
I was relaxing at New Year's Days, so I have not got used to attend a lecture at an early hour yet.
Today, I would like to tell you Next Face2Face Project's information.

Theme :Cross-Cultural Conversation
Date: January 21th (Friday) 16:20-18:00 （registration from16:00)
Venue: Faculty Club 2F Reception Hall Language: English & Japanese
Activities：
　　１．" International Café ~The meaning of students-centered international exchange activity ~ "
will be presented by Japanese student from the faculty of literature. (:Shuichi Honda)

will be presented by the international student from Austria. (:Susanne Robert)
　　３．International students and Japanese students will discuss freely.

There are two presenters in this Face2Face project.
They will talk about their interest in foreign countries and inter-cultural communication from the viewpoint of their countries.
After we listen to their presentations, we will be separated into several groups and discuss freely in the groups.
All you have to do is talking about what you think about this theme and their presentations.
